Job Summary
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to be a core part of our Finance team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, helping with the monthly closing cycle, and ensuring we meet all accounting standards (GAAP). It's a great opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to build a career in finance. Key Responsibilities Financial Record Keeping & Close Manage the General Ledger: Prepare and accurately input all journal entries and maintain the fixed asset register, including calculating depreciation. Support the Close Process: Directly participate in the timely completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing cycles. Reconciliation: Perform detailed monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts (like cash and prepaids) and quickly resolve any outstanding issues. Analysis & Compliance Reporting: Assist with preparing internal financial statements and reports, providing analysis on variances between actual results and budgets. Audit & Tax Support: Prepare necessary documentation and analysis to support external audits and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Process Improvement: Look for ways to improve accounting procedures and strengthen internal financial controls. Team Support: Help with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks, and support the Accounting Manager with various projects. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 1–3 years of experience in general or public accounting. Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Mandatory proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables). Experience using an ERP system or major accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Netsuite). Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines.
